I also take advantage of &#8220;hybridization&#8221; of digital medium and other traditional art media. Computer programming, 3D animation technology, non-linear digital video, computer aided sound have been mainly used for my art making along\u00a0 with supplemental traditional media such as painting, photography, sculpture, projection, performance and installation.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Human &amp;\u00a0 Digital Society: <\/strong><strong>living-together-with-technology<\/strong><br \/>\nWhile utilizing the computer to create graphical representations, and self-referencing the structure of digital technology, I became more interested in the phenomena and the characteristics of digital technology, which transmitted our way of living into unprecedented stage. I produced various works dealing with post-human conditions in techno-cultural society, such as cyborg (<em>Dmorph<\/em>, 2002), virtual identity( <em>Selves<\/em>, 2005), a pregnant woman suffering from environmental white noise (<em>Malnutrition:Case 1 \u00ad Noise<\/em>, 2002), human computer interacting spaces (<em>Dual Space<\/em>, 2003) ) and digital flesh ( <em>VirtualBody<\/em>, 2003).<br \/>\nMy later interest is in implementing interactive space where the symbiotic relationship between human and machine entity offered by the contemporary technology can be explored and rethought.\u00a0 Especially\u00a0Symbiosis series( <em>Symbiosis 1, 2<\/em><em>, 2005-2006<\/em>) examines the condition of a processed (or technologically mediated) body images in the domain of technology-driven systems and the meaning of \u201cliving-together-with-technology\u201d in our daily life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Expanded Media\u00a0 Art<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><br \/>\nI have been also fascinated by the so called \u201cexpanded media\u201d, the expanded realm of digital art combined with tangible materials in a physical space so that the work is interactive and communicative with audiences physically and \u00a0tangibly, overcoming the immaterial aspect of digital art.\u00a0 For example, <em>FalseBody<\/em>(2007-2009) comprised of digital animation and a series of digital prints exploring the immaterial aesthetics of digital culture by engraving the image of the digitally-generated body from an odd perspective of 3D virtual camera onto plexiglass, a tangible physical material. <em>Uri<\/em>(2007), a robot-kinetic public installation, is another work that explores \u00a0this idea of expanded media art.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Current Interests<\/strong><br \/>\nCurrently my interest is broadened in wider range of issues in relation to human interaction to human, private\/public spaces and the environment. I often like to juxtapose and mix the different kinds of spaces; nano vs macro, virtual vs real, artificial vs organic &#8211; into a physical space where viewers can enter and contemplate on.(ex. <em>Cross Dimension<\/em> series(2010), <em>Nano Urbanism<\/em>(2011)) I also like to state the social and environmental issues around the human development of urban environment in our contemporary time.
